Nottingham Contemporary. Free family activities. Open daily (except Mondays) 11 am - 3 pm.

National Justice Museum. Free family activities throughout Summer. Fairy Tale Crafts (every day). Fairy Tale Trials 1.30pm, 2.30pm & 3.30pm (Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays). Fairy Tale Storytelling 10.15am, 11.15am & 12 pm. (Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays) ages 4-7. 

Rufford Abbey Superhero Trail. 10.30 am - 4 pm. £2 per trail.

Stonebridge City Farm. Open daily with timetabled activities. Admission by donation.

Nottingham Beach at Market Square. Open daily until September 1st. There will be a number of children's activities and family fun ride attractions in the square this summer.

Erewash Beach at Erewash Museum. The beach opens daily Monday to Saturday through the summer holidays (except bank holiday Monday). Admission is free.

Beeston on Sands - Open daily from 10:30 am-6: 00 pm. Free Entry. Giant Sand Area,
Children’s rides, Bar area, Hot food..and so much more. Old Bus station, Beeston.

Sublime Science at Mansfield Museum! (July 30th - August 29th).  Free sessions. Come along to make 'alien slime' and edible 'space dust' with the Dragons Den winning Sublime Science. Watch Gravity being defied and have some amazing science fun.

Marshmallows for Martians (July 31st - Aug 30th) by Nottingham City Council. Listen to this rhyming space adventure story and make marshmallow constellations and button planets. Free and no need to book. Tuesday 30th

Make a Puppet Bird. Family Workshop at City Arts. The puppets you will help to create in this fun family-friendly workshop will appear at Nottingham Carnival 2019. £2 per child. 10am - 12 pm.

Stapleford Play Day. Free Event. 12 pm – 4 pm. Ilkeston Road Recreation Ground, Stapleford, NG9 8JE.

Wednesday 31st

Wildcraft Adventure Day (also available on 7th & 28th August) with Muddy Feet Outdoors.10:30 am – 3:30 pm. Get your kids off their screens and out into the woods this holiday for their Full Day of Adventure open to children aged 6 years and above. Thursday 1st

Pond and Woodland Mini-Beasts. Rushcliffe Park. 10 pm – 12 pm. Explore the woods and ponds with nets, trays & magnifying pots, All sessions £4.50 per child - cash or cheque (payable to Rushcliffe Borough Council). Book in advance to avoid disappointment. 

The Greatest Circus (Aug 1st - Aug 11th) at Wheelgate Park. The circus is free to all-day ticket and annual pass holders. No pre-booking required. Seats to the circus are on a first come first served queue basis. 30 min performances on the picnic lawns inside the big top at 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm followed by 15 minute interactive and fun circus skill sessions. Starts 10am – 5pm.

Friday 2nd

Coding with Micro: bits (Aug 2nd - Aug 14th) by Nottingham City Council. Unlock the secrets of computer coding and do some really cool stuff using a BBC Micro: bit. Age 7+. Free and no need to book. Jumping Clay at Erewash Museum. 11 am – 3 pm. Make your own ladybird or owl keepsake to take home. £2 per child.

Friday 2nd ( to Sunday 4th)

Riverside Festival! At Victoria Embankment. Live Music, Stalls, Fairground rides and Kids Zone. Free entry.

Fairy Tale Farm Weekender at Floralands Farm Park. 10 am - 4pm.

The Greatest White Post Farm Show. Come to the circus at White Post Farm and join in with workshops. Book online - Adult £9.85. Child £9.45. Starts at 10 am onwards.

Saturday 3rd

The Princess and the Frog at the New Art Exchange. 10:30 am – 12:30 pm. Join the family-friendly screening of a story about Tiana a waitress, desperate to fulfil her dreams as a restaurant owner and she is sent on a journey to turn a frog prince back into a human being. Book tickets in advance online.

Friday 9th

Super Space Science (until Aug 28th) by Nottingham City Council. Get out of this world and discover space with some fun science activities. For ages 7+. Free and no need to book. Saturday 10th

Nottingham Food and Drink Festival. Wollaton Park. (2-day festival, 10th & 11th) Open 10 am - 6 pm. A fantastic day out for the whole family, dogs welcome too! (on a lead). Book tickets online.

Tuesday 13th

Wednesday 14th

The Enormous Crocodile by Nottingham City Council. Storyteller John Kirk is working with the Roald Dahl Company to present The Enormous Crocodile. This interactive storytelling presentation is 30 minutes and suitable for children 3+.. £2 per person. Fun with Geoffery Jumper (Aug 14 - Aug 23rd) by Nottingham City Council. Our regular children’s performer returns with mischief, magic and music for all the family. £2 per person. Outdoor Cinema - Superhero Summer. Black Pantha at Rufford Abbey Country Park. 7:30 pm – 10 pm. Price: Advanced Online Tickets: £10.00pp / £35 when you book 4 tickets. Gates open at 5.30pm / Screening at 7.30pm. Film Rating 12A

Saturday 17th

Wheel of Death (on until Aug 25th) at Wheelgate Park. They have the Wheel of death. You will be left in awe at the death-defying stunts they do.  Starts 10am – 5pm. Normal admission. 

Kite Making for Kids (17th & 18th) at the Industrial Museum.Kite-making workshop at the museum. 11am-3pm both days. £3 for the first child, £2 for siblings

The Gloworm Festival (17th &18th) at Thoresby Park. A brilliant 2-day event with performances, 'meet and greets' from some of the UK's most loved TV stars, Live music, workshops and more! Book Tickets in advance online.

Sunday 18th

Nottingham Carnival at Victoria Park (Victoria Embankment). Carnival parade, 5 music zones, Sound systems, World cuisine food court, Heritage zone, Family amusements, Licensed bars
12-8pm. The Parade starts at 2 pm (free to watch). The Music & Events arena costs - Adults: £3, Children under 12: £1. Toddlers free. Parking £5

Summer Holidays Week at Erewash Museum. 11- 3 pm every day until Friday. A whole week of celebrating everything we love about summer! Enjoy the beach, ice creams, holiday-themed crafts and trails.

Sunday 25th

Steam Sunday at Industrial Museum. 11am - 4:00pm. See our mighty, 4-storey Beam Engine in steam, along with lots of other steam and diesel engines. £5 entry

Tuesday 27th

Kevs Comic Art Class. by Nottingham City Council. Learn how to write and draw comics with Kev Sutherland (writer for the Beano, Marvel and Doctor Who). For ages 7+. Booking essential, 9.30am - 12 pm, Nottingham Central Library and 1.30pm - 4 pm, Wollaton Library..£6 per person. Contact the library to purchase tickets.

Friday 30th

Titan The Robot at Wheelgate Park. Titan’s unique blend of comedy, street theatre and music creates a show unrivalled in the world today and has to lead him to appear on TV shows and has worked alongside superstars including Rihanna, Will Smith and Jackie Chan. 10 am - 5 pm Normal admission charges apply.
